From Rathdrum to the tee box

Collin earned his bachelor’s in Exercise Science from Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, Washington. He carries the CSCS through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, which requires a degree and a two-part exam.

At Saint Martin’s he played collegiate baseball, which is where his passion for biomechanics took hold. Throwing a ball hard and swinging a club fast both come down to the same question: how well does the body pass force from the ground up through the kinetic chain? He has been chasing the answer ever since.

After graduating he coached at a private baseball facility in Southern California, then headed to Arizona to work at a sports performance and physical therapy studio. There he trained high school, collegiate, and professional athletes, and for a short stretch programmed for members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Few coaches get that range of athletes under one roof, and it shows in how he adapts a program to the person in front of him.

Eventually he narrowed his focus to golfers exclusively, pairing his understanding of the kinetic chain with sports performance training to help players move better and feel better over the long run. He spent time at our Scottsdale Golf Performance facility before making the full time move up to Seattle Golf Fitness.

Collin grew up in Rathdrum, Idaho, where he played soccer, football, and baseball. Now he spends his free time golfing, working out, snowboarding, and training jiu-jitsu.

WHAT I WORK ON

The kinetic chain

Baseball taught me early that power doesn’t come from one body part. It comes from how well everything links up, and golf is no different.

Meeting people where they are

I’ve coached high schoolers, college athletes, and pros. The principles stay the same, but how hard you push and how fast you progress changes with every person.

Staying in the game

I’m a golfer, lifter, snowboarder, and jiu-jitsu practitioner myself. I love training, and I want you to leave a session eager to come back.
